Mission Community Archives  Mission District Historical Society

Extensive collection includes documents, photographs, maps and other resources that preserve the story of the community and its earliest settlers. The archives of the Fraser Valley Record newspaper forms part of the collection. Phone 604 820-2621


Mission Community Heritage Commission

Council-appointed volunteers advise on the preservation of local heritage, including additions to the Community Heritage Register. Locally recognized heritage includes Silverhill Hall, Mission Memorial Centre/ Old Hospital, Mission Museum, Fraser River Heritage Park, the Powerhouse at Stave Falls. Oral History Project/ Virtual Quilt Lifetime Learning Centre Society

Collection of over 140 taped interviews and personal memories, starting in 1992; some have been transcribed, an on-going initiative includes transferring all the tapes to digital media. Since closure of the Lifetime Learning Centre, people are encouraged to access the oral history through Mission Community Archives.
